Get to the call quickly and safely.
Navigation for emergency crews: police, ambulance and fire. Type the address the way control gives it, compare a standard route with a blue-light route, and follow big, glanceable directions.
For crews choosing their own tools, and for service IT teams evaluating them.
BlueRoute is an independent app. It is not made, endorsed or supplied by any police, ambulance or fire service.

Evaluating BlueRoute for your crews? We can walk you through how it works and how it handles data.
Contact us about an evaluationIndependent app. Use by a service is subject to its own approval, and serving staff should follow their service's rules on outside interests.
Still being field-tested. The passenger (operator) uses the app, or the driver when stopped. Don't rely on it for real jobs until testing is complete.
What it does
Search the way control gives it
Roads, postcodes, districts like N7, estates and blocks by name, and house numbers where they're mapped (not every door yet). Misspellings and nicknames forgiven; your area first.
Two routes, your choice
A fully legal route, and a blue-light route using bus lanes and gates. Never the wrong way down a one-way street, and every restriction it uses is listed.
Turn-by-turn
Large directions for the operator, spoken too, re-routing when you leave the route. Designed to avoid roads TfL lists as closed. Or hand over to Google Maps or Waze.
Pursuit screen
Speed, the road's limit (or “—”, never a guess), road, heading, area, next junction and where you're heading, every second.
Keeps going with poor signal
Road and place search, a downloadable map and directions along the current route work with no signal. A new route needs signal.
Private by design
Addresses and your log stay on your phone. No accounts and no third-party analytics: see Privacy.
For IT and information security
- No accounts or logins. Nothing to provision, and no personal data held about users.
- Addresses stay on the phone. The search log is kept on the device until the user clears it.
- The server keeps nothing it's asked. Routes and searches are answered in memory; no request logs with addresses or positions. HTTPS throughout.
- Usage counts only. Daily totals from a random, resettable install ID, kept as salted hashes. No third-party analytics.
- Team sharing is opt-in and end-to-end encrypted. The server holds only data it can't read, in memory, for at most a week.
- Blue-light routes are offered, never chosen for you. Always shown beside a legal route, every restriction listed, and they can be switched off.
